Terms of Use — Machinist Calc

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Vladimir Lukashov ("we", "us") for use of the Machinist Calc app ("the App"). By using the App you agree to these Terms. This also serves as the End User License Agreement required by the App Store.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on your Apple devices. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the App except as allowed by law.

2. Subscription

The App requires an auto-renewing subscription (weekly and yearly options, with a free trial where offered). Payment is charged to your Apple ID and handled by Apple. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. Restores are available via the App. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.

3. Accuracy and machine safety — IMPORTANT, please read

Machinist Calc provides conservative starting values only. It is not certified engineering data, and its output is not a substitute for your tooling manufacturer's published recommendations.

Published speeds and feeds vary widely between tool vendors, and between coatings, geometries and grades of the same nominal cutter. The App's material table is a general starting point, not data for your specific tool.
The correct numbers for a cut depend on rigidity, work holding, coolant, stick-out, depth of cut and the condition of your machine — none of which the App can see. Start light, take a test cut, and adjust.
Results are only as good as the numbers you enter. The App cannot detect a mistyped diameter, the wrong flute count, or a material that is not what you selected.
The spindle-limit feature reduces feed to hold chip load when your machine cannot reach the recommended speed. This keeps the chip from thinning, but it does not make an unsuitable cut safe — a tool run far below its intended surface speed may still perform poorly.
Machining is dangerous work. Rotating tools, ejected chips and broken cutters cause serious injury. Use guarding and eye protection, follow your shop's procedures and your machine's manual, and never let a calculated number override what you see and hear at the machine.

4. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy or suitability of any speed, feed, chip load, or drill size it produces. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages, injury, tool or machine damage, scrapped work, cost, or loss arising from use of the App or reliance on its output. Your total remedy is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the preceding 12 months.

5. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

6. Apple

This EULA is between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no responsibility for the App or support and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.
